confined to barracks

Still lame but getting around on three legs (the one I'm holding up is my bad one)

I am able to weight-bear on my bad paw but tend to limp badly when I do, I guess I'll be confined to barracks until I show some improvement.

sore paw AGAIN

So my plan of 'revenge' yesterday fell flat after I went and injured my paw ... again.
*sighs*
I think I have damaged my nail again, skidding about on the gravel after my ball.

Knot a problem

So after yesterday's BIG boo boo, I punished my hooman in the only way I know how - by dragging them out for a really  l   o   n   g  walk!!!
First we checked on the swan family but alas there was no sign of them, just an empty nest. Thought we'd see them further upstream but not a sign.
Next we checked on the goslings, again there was no sign although we did spot a new visitor to the lake, in the shape of pink footed geese (Anser brachyrhynchus)

 pink footed goose

Now they were being tormented by a lone male swan - who was proving to be very territorial - even chasing two of the geese along the lake and following them. Then he came at them again but this time they flew away from the lake and over the tree line into the fields beyond.

We are thinking that maybe if this is 'our' male swan then he may have lost his family but still being territorial - he may have finished those goslings off as they wouldn't have a hope of getting away from him and he was going for anything that swam!
Just out of interest, as we were leaving, two canada geese flew in so might they be the resident pair from last week too?

Pedigree fresh DENTAstix x7 sticks 110g

What are they?

X shaped chewy sticks designed to help shift plaque and tartar build up as part of an oral routine, the packaging boosts this is up to 80% effective and has been sceintifically proven. They are cereal based with vegetable based (and meat and animal derivatives*) with a touch of green tea extract and eucalyptus oil amongst other stuff I can't be bothered to name.

What were they like?

These had a pleasant smell and were softer than other sticks I have tried - that is a good thing as it meant I ate the whole thing rather than chewing an end and walking away never to return to it BOL
I liked these a lot, dad reckons they did help my breath (I dispute I had bad breath in the first place *folds arms*) but mom never got close enough to verify that!

Would you buy them again?

These were rebrought straight away except we got the next size up (these ones were 'small' i.e suitable for 5-10kg) as they were longer for about the same money! They are supposed to be one a day but I guess these will still be fed on a treat basis (one whenever!)

Price

£1 for 7 sticks (110gm)

what u lookin' at?

I'd say I was sticking my tongue out at the camera BUT I am a pro at all this posing lark now and it is a mere trifle (OMD! I mentioned FOOD *drools*) of my talents that when I am ordered to go 'sit there, stand here, look everywhere' ... I go do it with minimum fuss.

(Does that sentence make any sense???)

What I'm trying to say is I'm panting not blowin' raspberries at the camera
aka Hattie 'K!!!

Webbox Puppy Toys

 What is it?

Designed with puppies in mind, this is a fabric 'rolled up newspaper' with a squeaker and some awesome crunchy cellephane inside, there is a bit of fluffy stuffing too.

What was it like?

You might recognise this 'newspaper' from the photo a few days back and today I was able to get my teeth into it (yeah I know I'm not a puppy but the toy looked very well made so my hooman decided to risk it!)

My hooman liked the idea that the toy was like a tube so could be stuffed with other dry treats or maybe a small tennis ball - the newsprint is all Webbox related (the manufacturer) which my hooman thought was fun.

Would you buy it again?

Loved the look and feel of this toy The noise that crinkled paper makes is cool although I was more impressed with the squeak (as always). The playability of this waned after I'd killed it though although I'm sure I'll go back to it in the future.
The best selling point of this was the price - a bargain so we would definitely replace this.

Price

£1 (maybe a trial price?)

flower power

Oh boy. Flowers again *rolls eyes*

We revisit this place annually to see these cuckoo flowers and as we came from a different direction it took us a little longer to spot them. Plenty of cowslips about too.

We also saw that the swan's eggs had hatched, well all but one ...

3 cygnets, one egg, pen & cob

And further on, at the lake, we saw 4 goslings being protected my their parents!

Petface Magibones 315g

 What are they?

Mini rawhide-free bones containing vegetable starch, chicken, beef and bone meal (Isn't that what goes onto the garden?) amongst other stuff I really can't be bothered to list.

What are they like?

Lemme at 'em! I loved crunching these up into a thousand smithereens and it made my Chief Testing Assistant shudder as it sounded horrible as if I was breaking my teeth!
They were none too pleased either at the mess I'd made and I guess they'll be releasing the untamed noisy-sucking monster thing to come and clean it up. Yikes!!!

Would you buy them again?

They look pretty and the fact they are not rawhide is a BIG plus point but the mess I made has certainly put my hooman off them. I think it's a no.
