Webbox Liver Sizzlers 150g

What are they?

Flat, moist squares made with fresh liver (albeit only a minimum 4%!) meat & animal derivatives, cereals, derivatives of vegetable origins (is that a posh word for the peelings?!?) various sugars, minerals and permitted antioxidants, preservatives and colours.

What are they like?

Delicious!!! I had scoffed (that's slang for eaten) the lot in the photo before the end of the photo shoot and was still begging for more - I've BOL
My hooman thinks they look like a meaty version of After Eights but I can assure you they are not minty in the least!

Would you buy them again?

I'm racing to the shops now ...

not guilty

Sooo it wasn't me who found a football practically on my doorstep, then 'rescued' it and brought it inside to keep it warm before 'killing' it.

No Sir, not I

Nerf Tuff Tug

 What is it?

This is a durable rubber 'rugby' ball attached to a tugger rope and designed to be an interactive toy

What was it like?

Brilliant fun while my hooman played with me; loved holding onto the rubber grip as you can see (the ball was way too big for me to get into my mouth) but when left to my own devises I chewed the ball so the rope wasn't attached and promptly rendered it useless as a tugger toy. I still played with the ball for a few days afterwards, using it as a chew toy (That rubber IS durable apart from those end bits!)

Would you buy it again?

This is great fun! It would last for ages if my hoomans had taken it off me after each play. So if we see this again, we would buy a replacement!

pogo stick?

Gardening today included the removal of this dead shrub
(no idea what it was - it was dead when we moved in)
that was so dead, the branches just snapped off and this bit just pulled straight out from the ground!

Made for a great jump!!!

Fred & Ginger Scooby Snacks 120g

What are they?

Great Dane shaped snacks made from cereals, meat and animal derivatives (21% chicken/5% beef) oil and fats. Contain preservatives and colourants.

What are they like?

These seemed quite dry for a 'meaty' type snack but they initially went down well. Have to admit I got a bit bored of them later on when I realised there were better things on offer - the packaging makes them look more special than they actually are.

Would you buy them again?

Cannot find any trace of these online (apart from 1 site) so we guess they must be end of the line.
Or a start to a mystery perhaps? ...

sleepy aconites

We found this small patch of winter aconites today, they were either still asleep or just past their best - my hooman thought they were celandines but look!

We actually did see those too BOL

Anyywayys we heard another woodpecker today and as this one pecked on a tree, you could hear a rival tapping back!!!

We also came across this weird looking thing which we'd seen before but we thought we'd share,

This is a rather old robin's pincushion, found on a wild rose and caused by the larvae of a tiny gall wasp, Dipoloepis rosae. They feed on the host plant through the winter, emerging in the spring.

The oak that was felled last week was similarly affected by a gall wasp which created acorns looking like this (this is either from the same oak or one a few fields further up) and dates from 2013

Wilkinson tender chicken fillets 100g

What is it?

These premium snacks, from the 'best' range, are made from (pressed) chicken breast, potato starch, glycerin and sorbital. The pack had about 5 'fillets' and contained a de-oxidizer pouch for freshness. They come in a resealable pouch, are 97% fat free and high in meat although the actual quantity is not stated (similar snacks boast of  a 91% meat content but who knows?!?)

What were they like?

These smell overpoweringly of smoky bacon according to my hooman, although they tasted like chicken to me *winks* I gobbled these up so fast that I nearly choked! Damn they're good!!!

    Would you buy these again?

Yes! I loved them and they tasted great!
My 'bee in the bonnet' hooman had slight reservations that they weren't produced in the UK (on the grounds of potential animal welfare issues - but I'm sure normally they wouldn't have even noticed!)

cr-oaked

One of our favourite trees has been felled, this oak has stood here for at least 50 years (my hooman counted the rings) although we are all too young to prove that?!?

Unsure why it was felled, it must have been diseased as this tree is in such an area that it was in no ones way ... we know the acorns were affected by knopper galls (Andricus quercuscalicis) in the autumn but as far as we know that wouldn't kill off the tree itself. those dark rings don't look too good but the main stump is not half so affected so it must be a result of the felling. Any one know?

But I guess each cloud has a silver lining and the remaining trunk and stump made for a great place to play!
